Surgical Placement

Implant placement takes place at the dental clinic, using local anaesthesia similar to that used for all dental procedures. The implant is precisely placed at a specific point in the patient's bone, already predetermined after clinical and radiographic assessment of the case. Immediately after the surgical procedure, the necessary post-operative instructions are given to ensure the best possible healing. Antibiotics and mild analgesic medication (where needed) complete the patient's relief and limit any discomfort.

In the period following placement, temporary restorations (artificial teeth) can be made if needed, to help the patient continue their daily routine almost normally. After 12 to 16 weeks — the time the implants need to integrate with the bone — the permanent prosthetic restorations, either fixed or removable depending on the treatment plan, can then be placed on top of them.
